The Chronicle Of Higher Education: “Remembrance”

I spoke to Jasti Simmons of the Chronicle of Higher Education for about half an hour last week for her article Researcher Sees Digital-Music ‘Drug’ as Study Aid. Ms. Simmons tracked down some people who had been using music as a study aid, pain control and a tool to boost self confidence.

“I suffer from a syndrome called fibromyalgia, so my focus and concentration are not on point,” said Cathy Love, a student. Her professor suggested she try listening to songs including “Light Fall” and Remembrance while she studied. “Once I started listening to the CD’s while studying, I passed my classes with a B,” she said.
